The project scope called for the A/E design of a second 100,000 SF administrative office facility with 10,000 SF of computer operations area to the site. The building used a water­ source heat pump loop with an electric boiler for supplemental heat and an existing cooling tower plant for a condensing medium. Mr. Swann supervised the mechanical system selec­ tion, design, and documentation, as well as construction phase field observations. In addition, during the construction phase of the project, Mr. Swann acted as die principal engineer for a renovation project in the kitchen/cafeteria portion of the Phase I Guardian building.

Merrill Lynch & Co., Princeton, NJ Master plan for a 1,800,000 SF corporate campus located on a 276 acre tract. Design for Phase I -1,000,000 SF administration/conference-training center facility contains 15,000 SF of raised floor area for a computer/telecommunications network services; the Operations Center, which accommodates large clerical operations using desktop computers; and the Commons, which contains shared facilities such as dining areas, administrative offices, lounges, etc. Mr. Swann's responsibilities included heating and cooling load analysis, equip­ ment selection and system design. In addition, he developed energy models of the facility to determine annual energy consumption. The complex included an on-site central plant for both chilled and hot water, and emergency electrical power via diesel generators.
