Relevant Bank of New York, New York City, NY Experience/ Mr. Ralston directed A/E services for numerous design/build projects including locations Qualifications in Wilmington, DE; Secaucus, NJ; Harrington, NY; and New York, NY. The Wilmington (confd) study involved determining feasibility of fitting out leased space for 10,000 SF of computer facilities.

Philadelphia Savings Fund Society Philadelphia, PA Mr. Ralston directed the strategic facilities study that resulted in purchase of a 30-year-oId former newspaper publication building for use as a corporate data center. He directed five mechanical contractors in testing the existing building systems to identify deficiencies need­ ing corrections, and assisted in managing construction close-out, testing, and owner occupancy. TKLP provided A/E design, documentation, and construction administration services for the renovation of the 400,000 SF space. Requiring a highly-sophisticated com­ munications and computer network, and flexibility in specialized office areas, the facility contains 36,000 SF of computer area supported by a UPS system and emergency generator power supply; and raised floors throughout for complete flexibility in relocating utilities.

International Monetary Fund, Permanent Data Center, Washington, DC Expansion and refit-out of 11,000 SF data center for Burroughs A15 mainframe, IBM 3081 mainframe and two new 9370 mainframes. Mr. Ralston conducted a risk analysis of the building systems and the impact of phasing of construction with ongoing computer opera­ tions to double the computer floor area. A reliability plan was developed and followed during design and construction that kept the computers operational.

General Electric Information Systems Company, Brook Park, OH Mr. Ralston directed a reliability program, including risk analysis, reliability plan, system testing, and system operating manuals, for a 42,000 SF facility to house 36,000 SF of elec­ tronic data processing operations. Design includes environmental systems for computers and support systems, three 1,100 KW diesel generators, and a UPS system.

Union Carbide, Linde Division, Danbury, CT Mr. Ralston managed the design and performed construction project management for a 40,000 SF computer operations center for the Linde Division at the Danbury site. The relocation required suitable renovation of warehouse/manufacturing facilities to house 8,000 SF of computer area. His team commissioned and tested the reliability of the facility.

Viacom International, Inc., New York, NY To relocate and expand Viacom's 11,000 SF data operations center, Mr. Ralston provided building evaluations of six sites, and performed design and project construction manage­ ment services for the chosen location. The facility used a 3090-200 series system and included a UPS system with battery backup and auxiliary power generation.

Society Corporation, Cleveland, OH Mr. Ralston evaluated the interrelationship of Society Corporation's power distribution sys­ tem with that of Cleveland Electric Illuminating's switching yard distribution system to avoid shutdowns at the 100,000 SF operations center.

Morgan Stanley, Brooklyn Heights, NY Mr. Ralston directed the reliability program and building evaluation for Morgan Stanley's new Brooklyn and existing Manhattan computer centers. Risk analysis, reliability plan, test­ ing of base building and tenant fit-out, established the operating criteria for the landlord, O&M manuals, training, and audits.
