United Airlines (Covia) - Apollo Reservations Center, Denver, CO A 115,000 SF secure centralized computer center to support a reservations system that is in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Mr. Ralston directed full A/E services and a separately staffed reliability program. Most of the space is raised-floor: 57,000 SF houses computer hardware, 17,0(X) SF houses office functions attached to computer operations, 11,000 SF is miscellaneous support functions, and the remaining 30,000 SF is mechanical and elec­ trical support. There is 100 percent backup for M/E systems, including a UPS system, emergency power generators, and a halon fire suppression system.

Sheaison Lehman Brothers, New York, NY Mr. Ralston directed the project that included a sophisticated reliability program for a 750,000 SF computer operations center with 120,000 SF computer raised floors, and support facilities with uninterruptible and auxiliary power supply systems. The ten-story building is designed to utilize rejected heat from the computer area to heat the remaining 630,000 SF of office space. In addition to conventional service, the reliability program included risk analysis, system acceptance testing, training operators, and audits of critical O&M. Mr. Ralston man­ aged and scheduled the mechanical subcontractors in completing construction and testing. He also directed evaluation, including budgeting and prioritization, of Shearson's space in the World Financial Center that supports its trading floors. Mr. Ralston directed A/E de­ sign, and construction during the corrective work.

J. P. Morgan Services Inc., Stanton, DE Mr. Ralston managed a full reliability program for this 300,000 SF facility that included a 110,0(X) SF data center, operations center, and commons building. Fast-tracked in ten bid packages, bought out in separate contracts for each trade by the construction manager, the project was completed within 30 months.
