Mr. Magdi Parag, P.E., Chief Division of Sewer Regulation and Control Bureau of Sewers NYC Department of Environmental Protection 40 Worth Street New York, NY 10013 Subject: West Side Connection - (Amtrak) Manhattan, New York City Reference: Your Letter of March 21, 1988 Dear Mr. Parag: Attached are three (3) sets of completed plans for our proposed rehabilitation of the former Conrail/New York Central West 30th Street Branch for Amtrak Service. They have been revised in accordance with your comments. Please review them and advise your approval at the earliest possible date. 1. Existing City sewers into which the existing pumping stations discharge have been added to the plans in accordance with City Record Office data. 2. Existing sewers under the railroad have been added to the profiles where that information could be found. Since the information was taken from drawings rather than physically surveyed, we cannot show precise invert elevations. 3. Details for the new City manhole (N-14) and the stiructural cap over the old manhole have been added and are shown on Sheet D-6. 4. Amtrak Manhole N-13 has been changed to a drop manhole per your suggestions. a. Maintenance jurisdiction is indicated on the Plans to

I the extent possible. To Sheet G~2, we have added Note 12: "All new pipes and drainage structures, except Manhole No. N-14, shall be maintained by Amtrak.
