SUBJECT: AMTRAK North Access Tunnel Structural Review Sewer - Siphon
A meeting was held at BOS on 7/2/87 to discuss the structural review by BOS for the 90% completion of the contract documents. The following were jj in attendance: 0 M. Farag BOS D. Smith BOS R. Aggarwal ; BQS A. G'ursoy PBQ&D, Inc. N. Munfah PBQ&D, Inc. J. Schabib PBQ&D, Inc. ii 1 The following changes or considerations were agreed upon:
1. Change wording from "Storm Sewer" to "Local Railroad Drain".
(! 2. Eliminate breaks within 8" p drain line connecting the trench sump 11 pump to MH No. 1. Ii ii 3. For the existing 15" 0 drain pipe located just east of new combined sewer under 11th Avenue between 33rd and 34th street:
o Abandon 25 feet long portion at north end
o place a new C.B. next to the bridge drain.
o provide new 15" y, drain pipe connecting form new CB to drain inlet.
o Label this line "Local RR drain"
4. Design the tunnel to span over the siphon. This will be done by replacing the E.J. with C.J. Provide sufficient reinforcing to span over the siphon and provide premolded filler between the tunnel
