A. Concrete
1. Concrete for structural elements shall have a
minimum 28-day strength of 4,000 psi and. a maximum
4" slump.
B. Concrete Aggregates
1. Fine aggregate for concrete shall comply with the
requirements of ASTM Specification C-33-3i Edi
tion. It shall consist of clean, hard, strong,
durable uncoated particles of mineral origin, free
from salt, loam, shale, clay and other deleterious
matter and shall be well graded from coarse to
fine.
2. Coarse aggregate shall comply with the require
ments of ASTM Specification C-33-Sj. Edition. It
shall consist of crushed sound stone, composed of
hard, strong, durable uncoated pieces free from
soft, friable, thin, elongated or laminated frag
ments or a screened and washed bank tun gravel.
C. Cement
1. Cement for all concrete shall be Portland Cement,
Type II, of United States manufacture and of an
approved brand complying with the requirements of
ASTM Specification C-150-81.
D. Water
1. Water used in concrete shall be potable waters
E. Chemical Admixtures for Concrete
1. Water reducing and retarding admixtures shall be
approved by the Contractor and shall meet the
requirements of ASTM Specification C49'*-jb0.
F. Reinforcement
1. Bar reinforcement shall be new deformed billet
steel bars. Grade 60 of United States manufacture
conforming to the requirements of ASTM Specifica-
