D. SUBMITTALS
1. Before beginning pile driving the/Subcontractor shall
submit:
a. Description of equipment proposed.for pile driving
including hammer, leads and cap block cushioning.
b. File numbering plan.
c. Description of proposed pile driving sequence and
procedure.
d. Details of any required splices.
2. The Subcontractor shall employ a surveyor licensed
in the State of New York who shall determine and certify
. the actual location of each pile as installed, and shall
.submit certified lists and drawings of the pile designation
number, cutoff elevation as installed, or deviation from
pluiiib.
3, The Subcontractor shall keep a record of each pile
driven, and shall furnish signed, typewritten copies daily.
The records shall include the pile length as driven, date and
time of driving, time delays during driving, splice locations,
tip and cut-off elevations, deviations from plan location
and from pl’jmb, hammer data, driving resistance, and any
otlier applicable data.

.A. FILES
1. Steel piles for utility supports and platforms
shall be HP x 73 rolled shapes conf canning to the require-
ment-s of ASTM A-36, Current Edition.
a. The Subcontractor shall furnish mill certificates
to the Contractors Renresentative certifying .that the piles conform
to-U^fc.requiretentsof ASlYA-Su, Current Edition,
3. The Subcontractor shall splice sections of pile
. with an approved full penetration butt weld made by a New
York City certified and AWS qualified welder, and conforming
to the Specifications of the American Welding Society Struc
tural Welding Code, AWS Dl.l, Current. Edition. There shall
be no splicing allowed from the tip of the pile to a point
40 feet above it. There shall be no more than two splices
■per pile. .
