SUBJECT: 5396 WTC: RELOCATION OF RIVER WATER INTAKE LINES AND
OTHER UTILITIES, WORLD TRADE CENTER, BOROUGH OF MANHATTAN
Dear Mr. Novotny:
The following items are in answer to the comments in your
letter dated May 28, 1982 to Mr. Reninger, concerning the subject
project:
1. Three sets of revised drawings are enclosed, which indicate
existing sewers wherever they occur in proximity to the work included in
the VJTC River Water Intake Utilities Relocation contract.
2. All new storm drainage work in the proximity of the contract
area shall be performed after the completion of this construction phase.
3. Olympia and York has informed us in writing that they will
accept responsibility for all existing sewers located in the contract work
area. Upon the letting of the contract, Olympia and York will schedule an
inspection of the sewers to determine their condition as they now exist.
A^ter the completion of construction, Olympia and York will again inspect
the lines to evaluate what damage, if any, has been done.
4. Olympia and York has assured us that, at no time will they
use New York City facilities as a point of discharge for dewatering opera
tions.
5. There is no proposed sewer work included in this contract
package.
6. For your information, three (3) copies of the work shown on
Vollmer Associates Drawings Cl-R-5 and Cl-U-6, are also enclosed. The
. work shown on these utility drawings will be done under a separate contract.
