Interior: EPA sent us their most recent revision of the interior scope of work last Wednesday; however, the scope was yet to be reviewed by Kathy Callahan. DEP reviewed the document and found further additions to the scope (i.e., now requiring the ceiling and walls to be included in common space cleanup along with floors as first proposed).

I spoke to Kathy on Monday, 7/9, and informed her that we would not be commenting further. If the scope as written is what they wanted, then fine, as in the final analysis it is their program. I then asked Kathy what her timetable was as to moving this along. She informed me that she has not yet heard back fi-om Congressman Nadler’s office and appears to be waiting for their comments. A meeting was scheduled today, Tuesday, 7/9, between her and Jane Kenney to go over the issues, and Jane would then follow up with a phone call to you. Also in my discussion with Kathy, I reminded her that we still have not received anything definitive firom the Red Cross about the relocation of tenants. She informed me that she is still working on it. I will call her on Wednesday, 7/10, for a fiirther update. I heard firom Ben Barry at EPA that today they were meeting with OSHA and others to discuss worker safety.

On our side, staff members are in the process of developing bid sheets that must accompany scopes of work. This should be completed by tins Friday at the latest, however, if we needed to we could be ready much sooner.

Exterior: To date, we have cleaned 58 buildings and have approximately six jobs ongoing. We have started the cleaning of the facade at 125 Cedar; however, have run into some problems with the firehouse right next door. Krish is there today working on resolving this. We have approximately 60 more buildings that have signal license agreements and need to be cleaned. That leaves us witii approximately a population of 125 buildings that have not returned signed license agreements. These 125 buildings have been, and will continue to be, contacted to obtain license agreements. At the end of the process, there will be a certain number of buildings that will need to be re-inspected to determine our next step. Two contracting items that we will be bringing to Stu on Wednesday are: (1) Our current air monitoring contract ends on August 3”^ and we need to keep it going and (2) the exterior contract will need to have additional monies placed into them as the material being cleaned and removed is greater than anticipated and bid upon.
