Exterior Cleaning • 315 buildings have been identified as needing cleaning. • 58 buildings to date have been cleaned by the contractor. • 45 buildings have been cleaned by the owners. • NYCDEP is still working on licensing agreements with some building owners. • The work is being performed during the days, nights and weekends as needed. • Completion is anticipated by September 2002. • There remains 3 or possibly 4 uncleaned unoccupied buildings. The consultants are beginning their walk-through on July 12* to begin the SOW. • NYCDEP will provide the original list of uncleaned unoccupied buildings to EPA which will show the buildings cleaned or being cleaned by the private sector. • NYCDEP will keep EPA informed on the status of cleaning activities at the Deutsche Bank office building on Liberty Street. • The data collected so far will be shared with EPA.

5. Lower Manhattan Cleaning • Options for cleaning methods are included in the contract: — wet-wiping of vertical non-porous surfaces. — disposal of porous items if they cannot be cleaned. EPA is looking into the financial issues for replacement of items that get disposed of. • Air monitoring - Metals and dioxins will be sampled in 200 units. — Options will be presented for aggressive versus non-aggressive sampling. — The NYS Attorney’s office met with EPA on a number of issues. ► A SOW is needed to address lead and mold if found ► Is this cleaning a minor asbestos project? Discussions are continuing on this issue. — The latest draft of the Cleaning SOW will be sent to the lAWG. — An SOP should be included to address asbestos-containing material that is not related to the WTC if found. • 2650 buildings requested cleaning and testing. • 600 buildings requested testing only. • 59 buildings requested full cleaning.

6. COPC Update • The COPC Report has been completed and is going to peer review. • The peer review panel is scheduled to convene September 23"’ to 25*. EPA will push for this to occur in NYC.
