15 REMOVAL OF CONTAMINATED DUST, DEBRIS AND MATERIALS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS:
A. Installation of Critical and Primary Barriers, and Work Area Isolation Procedures are set forth in
Section 07 Temporary Enclosures and Work Area Preparation.
B. Project Decontamination procedures are specified in Section 13 Project Decontamination.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:
A. Provide new or used materials and equipment that are undamaged and in serviceable condition.
Provide only materials and equipment that are recognized as being suitable for the intended
use, by compliance with appropriate standards.
B. Plastic Bags: Sealable, disposable bags, minimum 6 mil. thick.
C. Waste Container Bag Liners and Flexible-Trailer Trays: One piece leak resistant flexible tray
with absorbent pad, as manufactured by Packaging Research and Design Corporation,
Madison, WS. 39130 or equal.
D. Tape: Provide tape which is of high quality with an adhesive which is formulated to aggressively
stick to sheet polyethylene, as manufactured by Kendall Co., NASHUA Tape Products; or
approved equal.
E. Spray Adhesive: Provide spray adhesive in aerosol cans which is specifically formulated to stick
tenaciously to sheet polyeth^ene, as manufactured by 3M: NASHUA Tape Products; or
approved or equivalent.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 DUST AND DEBRIS REMOVAL METHODS:
A. Following isolation of the work area, protection and authorization to proceed, the removal of
dust, debris, and contaminated materials shall proceed in the bllowing sequence:
1. Remove and clean any non-porous furnishings that are scheduled to be saved (e.g.,
kitchen cabinets and countertops, bookshelves, etc.);
2. Remove and dispose of all remaining furnishings and appliances:
3. Remove perimeter gypsum board walls, and any insulation behind the wails;
