may be added, if required, for solvents, biocides, etc., use as determined by Ambient Group, Inc. In this case, provide cartridges that have each section of the combination canister labeled with the appropriate color code and NIOSH/MSHA Certification.
B. Negative Pressure - Half or Full Face Respirator: Supply a sufficient quantity of respirator filters as described above so that workers can change filters during the workday. Respirators shall be wet-rinsed and filters discarded each time a worker leaves the Work Area. Store respirators and filters at the Work Site in the Clean Room and protect totally from exposure to contaminated dust prior to their use.
C. Powered Air Purifying - Half or Full Face Respirator (PAPR): Supply a sufficient quantity of HEPA respirator filters so that workers can change filters at any time that flow through the face piece decreases to the level at which the manufacturer recommends filter replacement. Regardless of flow, filter cartridges shall be replaced after 40 hours of use. HEPA elements in filter cartridges shall be protected from wetting during showering. Entire exterior housing of respirator shall be washed each time a worker leaves the Work Area. Provide an extra battery pack for each respirator so that one can be changed while one is in use. Equip full-face respirators with a nose cup or other anti-fogging device as would be appropriate for use in air temperatures less than 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 GENERAL:
A. Respiratory protection shall be worn by all individuals who may be exposed to airborne contaminated dust during the project until all areas have successfully passed clearance air monitoring in accordance with these Regulations.
1. All respiratory protection shall be NIOSH approved in accordance with the provisions of 42 CFR Part 84. All respiratory protection shall be provided by the Contractor, and used by workers in conjunction with the written respiratory protection program.
2. Workers shall be provided with personally issued and individually marked respirators. Respirators shall not be marked with any equipment that will alter the fit of the respirator In anyway. Only waterproof identification markers shall be used.
3. No facial hair which interferes with the face-to-mask seal (i.e., beards) shall be permitted to be worn when wearing respiratory protection that requires a mask-to-face seal. All workers must be clean shaven.
4. Contact lenses shall not be worn in conjunction with respiratory protection on abatement projects.
5. If a worker wears glasses, a spectacle kit to fit their respirator shall be provided by the Contractor at the Contractor's ejpense. --------------------- ----
