a. The barriers shall be minimum 2" x 3" stud construction at 16" centers. The outer walls shall be 1/2" finished plywood, new. All materials shall be fire retardant.

b. The barrier shall extend from floor to slab ceiling and shall be flush.

c. All seams, on both the interior and exterior, shall be caulked, sealed, and made airtight. Apply plastic sheeting, two (2) layers, 6 mil, to interior surface, stapled and taped securely in place.

2. The barriers shall remain in place for the duration of the project.

3. At the completion of the project, the barrier(s) shall be removed by the Contractor, the area(s) cleaned via HEPA-vacuuming and wet-wiping techniques, and to their original condition.

4. The area where contaminated dust is to be removed is to be Isolated from other portions of the building.

5. The entire Work Area shall receive plastic preparation as described herein.

6. The Contractor shall post an approximately 20-inch by 14-inch manufactured caution sign at each entrance to the work area displaying the following legend with letter sizes and styles of a visibility required by 29 CFR 1926.1101:

DANGER ASBESTOS CANCER AND LUNG DISEASE HAZARD AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY RESPIRATORS AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING ARE REQUIRED IN THIS AREA

Provide spacing between respective lines at least equal to the height of the respective upper line.

7. The Contractor shall post an approximately 10-inch by 14-inch manufactured sign at each entrance to each work area displaying the following legend with 3/4-inch block letters:

NO FOOD. BEVERAGES OR TOBACCO PERMITTED ALL PERSONS SHALL DON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING (COVERINGS) BEFORE ENTERING THE WORK AREA

ALL PERSONS SHALL SHOWER IMMEDIATELY , _AFJER LEAVING WORK AREA AND BEFORE ENTERING THE CLEAN ROOM

8. The Contractor shall thoroughly clean all interior window surfaces, as well as the exterior window sills, utilizing HEPA-vacuuming and wet-wiping techniques.
