World Trade Center Emergency Project Motion:

The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 14-MB’s training school will be conducting a seminar on Sunday, October 21,, 2001 in:

“Trenching and excavation safety, soil analysis, use of protective systems and the requirements o.f OSHA 1926,650-2 standard excavations and the new ANSI standards Al0.12 excavation.”

. The new ANST standard AIO. 12, excavation states;

“2.2 The contractor’.? or subcontractor’s responsibilities. The contractor or subcontractor shall prepare an excavation safety and health plan and shall: 2,2. i Designate an excavation competent person to implement this standard. 2.2.2 Instruct each, employee in. the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to hi.s/her work. environment to control and eliminate any hazards or ocher exposure to illness or injury; 2.2.3 Prepare a record which contains the identity of each employee, the date of training, and the means used to verify- that the employee understood the training.”

The class will be held in rhe auditorium in PS I 89 at 9,AM, We will, also cover 29 CFR 1926.850 subpart T, demolitio.o.
