6.0 Recommendations

In light of the findings of this survey .the following recommendations are made: I 1. The only contaminant exposure of significance is asbestos. Approximately 40 % of the workers sampled were exposed at the PEL of 0.1 iZcc. Levels were always below 0.S IZcc. 2. Agents working in the debris field at the conveyor^ and searching cars should continue to wear the proscribed personal protective eauiumeht^l^s includes a half-face respirator with N100 cartridges, a Tyvek suit, gloves, hard hat and^M^. 3. Continue to monitor asbestos exposure levels on agents working at the landfill. It is not necessary to monitor exposure each day. The current plan to test exposures once each week t is more than adequate. 4. Continue to periodically monitor exposure to noise on agents working in the landfill while at the screeners. The current plan to test exposures once each week is more than adequate. 5. Additional exposure monitoring for VOC's, respirable dust, silica, metals and lead should be discontinued.
