Hoffer RE: Release of Vehicles Taken from Ground Zero Area (■ General Counsel to Fresh Kills by the FBI for Investigative Purposes Bureau of Legal Affairs Tel (718) 595-6555 The FBI is planning to release certain vehicles taken from the Fax (718) 595-6543 www.cl.nyc.ny.us/dep vicinity of Ground Zero to the Fresh Kills landfill for investigative purposes (apparently, certain insurance companies and owners have made requests for the return of the vehicles).
Attached is a copy of a memo I just received from Steve Levi at the Law Department, explaining this, along with a copy of a letter from the ■V FBI, forwarding the results of certain tests on the vehicles conducted by r the federal government.
r I would appreciate Bob having appropriate Air/Haz Mat staff I' ■i' review the report, and provide any comments/concems to Judah, who should then transmit them to OEM (Attention OEM’s General Counsel, •fe'- Lai Sun Yee). Note the deadline is Monday, 1/28 at noon (they didn’t give us much time for this).
