I wanted to give you both a heads up that next thursday or friday the 26 or 27, EPA's ORD will release two reports: a draft human health evaluation for the World Trade Center and a final rodent study that looks at the toxicity of the WTC dust. I believe that press calls will be handled by ORD out of Washington. I will be away, but I have asked Bonnie Bellow (212-637-3660) to call you or have someone call when we know for certain it's a go. Here's a few quick bullets on the studies, just to give you an idea of what they say: ' The human health evaluation concludes that, with the exception of those exposed immediately following the collapse and perhaps during the next few days, people in the surrounding community are not likely to suffer from serious long or short term health effects.

' The rodent study found that a high dose of WTC fine PM could cause mild lung inflammation and air flow obstruction in mice and a similarly high dose in people could cause short-term respiratory effects such as inflammation and cough. ' Both studies support statements that have been made by other researchers and by EPA. Workers and those exposed in the collapses are the most likely to have health problems, residents and workers in the nieghborhood that were not exposed to the initial collapse are not likely to
