The work as described in the developed checklist for re-occupancy has been s completed.

• Asbestos bulk and air sampling was performed. The results were satisfactory in both cases. (The material was found to be negative and air tests permitted re­ occupancy).

• All the ductwork has been cleaned. Window A/C unit has not been completed. The window units are expected to be completed by October 1^ as access to different locked offices becomes available. Notices have been posted at the buildings instructing staff not to turn on the window A/Cs.

• All the buildings were checked for structural stability twice and they have been certified. Some repairs, some of which were identified prior to the WTC incident, are still needed and have been scheduled.

• The impact and amount of work varied in different buildings.

The roof of 280 Broadway was recently replaced and some work was ongoing. No debris was found on the roof.

253 Broadway is within the red zone and therefore access is sometimes restricted. The building is open. Some carpets were shampooed.

Buildings near ground “0” (specifically referenced 253 Broadway and 1 Centre Street) are affected by the burning odor.

• Some telephone service is still interrupted. Most have internal communication available. The extensions will remain the same, but some exchanges will be different. Power is on. Elevators are in operation.

• A meeting was held at 1 Centre Street on September 2P‘ to provide representatives with information on the activities at the various buildings. Deputy Commissioner Wagner stated that his office (212 380-2670) would address inquiries and fax the checklist information.
