DCAS buildings (City-Owned Buildings)

DCAS information was provided by Deputy Commissioner Joe Wagner. • The work as described in the developed checklist for re-occupancy has been completed. • Asbestos bulk and air sampling was performed. The results were satisfactory in both cases. (The material was found to be negative and air tests permitted re-occupancy). • All the ductwork has been cleaned. Window A/C unit has not been completed. The window units are expected to be completed by October 1®* as access to different locked offices becomes available. Notices have been posted at the buildings instructing staff not to turn on the window A/Cs. • All the buildings were checked for structural stability twice and they have been certified. Some repairs, some of which were identified prior to the WTC incident, are still needed and have been scheduled. • The impact and amount of work varied in different buildings. Consolidated Edison of New York • Con Edison Emergency Notification received 9/11/01 for the removal of 120 linear feet coal tar wrap under Brooklyn Bridge between Water and Front Street. • Emergency notification for the removal of 100 linear feet of steam insulation on Barclay Street between Washington and Greenwich Street. • ACP7 received on 12/12/2001 for the removal of 1,520 linear feet of steam insulation at a street excavation on Murray Street between Greenwich and Broadway (the “restoration effort”) • ACP7 received on 1/11/2002 for 50 linear feet at a street excavation on Washington Street between Vesey and Barclay Street. • ACP7 received on 1/11/2002 for the removal of 100 linear feet from a feeder pipe at South Street between Peck Slip and Dover for restoration. • Con Edison Emergency Notification received 9/11/01 for the removal of 120 linear feet coal tar wrap at South Street and Peck Slip. • Con Edison Notification received 12/4/01 regarding two 40 foot feeder cables at Vesey and West Street. • Con Edison Emergency Notification received 11/3/01 at West Broadway and Vesey Street.
