Following is a summery of significant observations, test results, HVAC (heating, ventilation and zir conditioning) System Air Handler © The apartment is cooled by « central air conditioning system. The air handler for this system is located in the ceiling plenum above the faundry room. Following is 2 summary of the hygienic deficiencies noted and the corrective actions recommended: « All eurfaces inside the air handler contain a moderate level of dust similar in appearance to the dust in the air supply and retum ducts. All surfacea with this unit should be thoroughly HEPA vacuumed, If accessble, the blower wheel should be rewoved, soaked and sorubbed.. This will provide access to the initial run of supply duct for eucapsulation with Fosters 40/20 (a high viscosity anti-fimpal fiberlock paint) ar equivalent. + The fiberglass insulation on the interior surfaces is foil covered and is in generally good condition. Selvages and small damages should be encapsulated by hand with Fosters 40/20 or cquivalent. . Return Ducts ° The unlined galvanized return duct (approximately 20-25 linear feet) extends from the intake located on the ceiling of the ontrance foyer to the air handler. Following is a summary of the hypienic deficiencies noted and the corrective actions recommended: ¢ The retum duet contains a heavy level of loose dust.
