Board Member Tribeca Organization Re: October Weekend Open House & Mayor's Assistance The Tribeca Organizstion was formed in the wake of the World Trade Center tragedy. It is comprised of over 150 merchants in the Tribeca comummity-restaurants, home furnishings dealers, art galleries, schools, food merchants-the gamut of the retail businesses, which make up the Le commercial backbone of Tribeca. We are all working to put our businesses wo together end to make the Tribeca community stronger. But we need the help of the Mayor’s office. We are planning to hold a weekend open house of all our businesses on the weekend of October 19-21. We will be advertising in the New York Times encouraging New Yorkers that we are open for business and that they should come and shop and eat- all at 1 20% discount. But for this weekend to be successful, we need the help of the Mayor's office with our logistical planning and perhaps with a little Mayoral boost-like a Saturday walking tour of the shops aud We are aware that the Mayor's and all of his peoples’ time is precious right now and they operate in a triage environment. However, if someone in your office can take a meeting with us so that we can advise you of our ; plans for the weekend and our concems it can only benefit Tribeca andthe City’s recovery.
