Staten Island Dredging Project
DEP's noise staff is setting up a meeting with the Corps of Engineer project manager to discuss the
next phases of the project. We have taken sound level readings in some of the residential areas and
the readings were not as high as those taken when traffic was passing at the same point. We are
optimistic that some of the next phases are along the industrial areas and far enough away from
residential areas not to be a source of complaint.
