Executive Summary
At the request of Mr. Kevin Hoey agent for CAPITAL PROPERTIES, Consulting &
Testing Services, Inc. (CTSI) performed environmental testing at 111 Broadway. The
purpose of the sampling was to evaluate the building's air quality and dust composition
subsequent to the World Trade Center tragedy.
CTSI was requested to perform dust sampling of the subject building as well as
performing air monitoring during the dust clean up.
Dust samples were collected on September 21St, 2001. Air samples were collected on
September 23rd 2001 and continued to September 26th, 2001.
• Air samples were collected as part of building air q uaItty/dust control evaluation
and during clean up processes from the following floors: Main Lobby, Trinity
Level, Basement, 2 , 3`d, 4th, 5th, 6th 7th, 8th 9th 10`h, l 1'h, 12th, 13th, 15th, 16th,
17`h, 18, 19th, 20th` and 21St. All samples collected were transported to an
independent certified laboratory, EMSL Analytical, for analysis. Samples were
analyzed utilizing Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) Methodology (Fiber
Analysis of Air Samples via NIOSH 7400, Revision 3, issue 2, 8/15/94).
Air samples collected at conclusion of clean up phases on September 25th and 261h
were within New York State and City clearance criteria of <0.01 f/cc (fibers per
cubic centimeter). A total of eighty three (83) final air quality samples were
collected.
• Dust Samples were collected from the following floors: 2l , 22nd, 20th', 19`h, 18th,
17th, 16th, 15th, 14'h, 13'h, 12`h, 11th, l0t`, 9th, gth, 7th 6th 4th, 3'd and 2ad. Samples
