MINIMUM CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
h At disposal site, carefully unload sealed plastic bags from the truck. If bags are
intact and drums are not contaminated, the drums may be reused. Treat any
drums that have been contaminated as asbestos-containing waste and dispose of in
accordance with this procedure.
At the completion of hauling and disposal of each load, submit copy of waste
manifest, chain of custody form, and landfill receipt to Owner.
11.0 WORK AREA CLEARANCE
11.1 The asbestos abatement work area is cleared when the work area is visually clean and
clearance air testing by TEM indicates that airborne fiber concentrations have been
reduced to the level specified below.

11.2 In the event that release criteria as not met, all costs associated with re-testing and re-
cleaning shall be borne by the Contractor.
11.3 Clearance Air Monitoring and Analysis by TEM:
a) Acceptance Criteria: Decontamination of the work site meets the requirements of
this test when every work area sample indicates an airborne concentration of
fibers of less than 70 structures per millimeter squared. If any sample is above
this clearance level, then the decontamination is incomplete and the work area re-
cleaned.
