NYC 9/11 Public Portal Document

The Soundings and The Regatta Brown, Harris, Stevens Management 770 Lexington Ave New York, NY 10021

Manager: Thomas Swietek (212) 508- 7301

Environmental Sampling:

ACS Environmental was contracted to perform visual assessments, bulk sampling, and air sampling to identify any asbestos contaminant at The Soundings and The Regatta.

The Metro Group conducted water testing in certain apartments.

280 Rector St (The Soundings) and 21 South End (The Regatta): Tested one or two weeks post 9/11.

Water testing was conducted in 1 apartment at discretion of building manager. Air sampling was conducted "several times" in common areas. Dust sampling was conducted on 2 occasions. Each time, 1 sample was obtained from the lobby, 1 sample each from 2 apartments, and 1 sample from a common area (total samples: —8).

Per building manager, none of the samples were above standards for asbestos. As such, no asbestos abatement was needed or conducted.

Thomas Swietek reluctant to provide photocopies of environmental testing results. Left message requesting photocopies 1/30/02; awaiting response.

Clean-up Activities by Building Manager:

American Fire Restoration (516-484-1777, Normal Perkel) was hired to conduct all professional cleaning in the common areas.

1. Tenants are responsible for all clean-up of their apartments. 2. Common areas were cleaned by AFR; unsure if HEPA vacuums used. 3. The outside of buildings were washed down with water (including apartment balconies).
