1. The immediate work area shall be considered top be the roofarea from which the asbestos containing roofflashing or roofing and miscellaneous matznels are actively be removed.The asbestos work shall extend twenty-Ofive(2S')from the perimeter ofthe immediate work oaten 2. All openings(including operable windows,doors,duct grills, communicating openings, etc.)(1)Story above and one(1)story below the rooflevel ofthe immediate work area and extending twenty-five(25')beyond,shall be sealed directly with 2layers ofat least six-mil flame-retardant plastic sheeting. All vent openings which cannot be sealed shall be extended vertically a minimum ofeight feet and remain in operation. 3. Any windows that must be plasticized from inside the building because ofsafety reasons or any fixed or non-operable windows on the floor below or above within 25 feet ofthe roof work area that are not to be plasterized shall be sealed using caulking or tape/plastic. 4. Al! msteris!shall be removed by utilizing wet methods. Upon completion ofthe roofing removal, within each workarea,the caulk, plastic tape or interior plastic sheeting may be removed; however,subsequent to the removal the interior surfaces and trim ofeach windowfopening shall be thoroughly IEPA vacuumed. 5. Removed flashing and/or roofing materials shall be placed in rice bags and I layers of6-mil polyethylene. And transported to waste deem to be doubled lagged all waste on site shall be placed in holding area located on 2a0 floor. A ramp -will be constanacted on 2"4 floor stair well for bag out.The ramp and bag out route will be covered with reinforced poly and 6 -rail poly for save and efficient route. Once waste is on bottom floor it will be placed in a closed container with 2 layers of6-mill plastic.(Fire-retardant) 6. A personal decontamnstion enclosure system that complies with subpart 56-9 shall be utilized. This enclosure system can be remote,an the property and stationary and within SO feet ofthe building. It shall be removed at the end ofthe project when all work is complete. The enclosure system shall be large enough to accommodate the number of people using it. The access arrea between the work area and the remote decontamination unit shall be restricted.
