Pursuant to Section 25-310 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York, the Landmarks Preservation Commission hereby approves certain alterations to the subject premises as proposed in your application completed on June 24, 2002.

The approved work consists of cleaning the exterior of the building, including the facade and roof, of debris related to the collapse of the World Trade Center, including, at the facade, removing all loose debris using, on the horizontal surfaces, non-metallic bristle brushes or scrapers, followed up by wet wiping and a low pressure water rinse of not more than 250 PSI, and, at the roof, collecting all loose debris, washing loose gravel, and wet wiping other surfaces, as described in specifications prepared the City of New York Department of Environmental Protection and submitted as components of this application

In reviewing this proposal, the Commission noted that the designation report for this Individual Landmark describes the Temple Court Building as an eclectic office building built in two stages, the first combining elements of the Queen Anne, neo-Grec, and Renaissance revival styles, designed by Silliman and Farnsworth and built in 1881-83, and the second section in the Romanesque revival style, designed by James Farnsworth and built in 1889-90. The Commission also notes that there is some debris on the roof and facade
