Pursuant to Section 25-310 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York, the Landmarks Preservation Commission hereby approves certain alterations to the subject premises as proposed in your application completed on June 24, 2002.

The approved work consists of cleaning the exterior of the building, including the facade and roof, of debris related to the collapse of the World Trade Center, including, at the facade, removing all loose debris using, on the horizontal surfaces, non-metallic bristle brushes or scrapers, followed up by wet wiping and a low pressure water rinse of not more than 250 PSI, and, at the roof, collecting all loose debris, washing loose gravel, and wet wiping other surfaces, as described in specifications prepared the City of New York Department of Environmental Protection and submitted as components of this application

In reviewing this proposal, the Commission noted that the designation report for this Individual Landmark describes the Temple Court Building as an eclectic office building built in two stages, the first combining elements of the Queen Anne, neo-Grec, and Renaissance revival styles, designed by Silliman and Farnsworth and built in 1881-83, and the second section in the Romanesque revival style, designed by James Farnsworth and built in 1889-90. Staff has reviewed these specifications and finds that the work on the facade and roof will not require the removal of any significant protected architectural material; that it will bring the appearance of the building closer to its original condition; and that it will not detract from the architectural character of
