RE: Stuyvesant High School Air Sampling Results

Two ambient air samples for asbestos were collected between the hours of SAM and 4PM on 10/11/01 outside Stuyvesant High School. The samples were analyzed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), which provides results that are specific for the presence of asbestos fibers. Using this method, the EPA guideline for acceptable concentrations is 70 structures per square millimeter (s/mm^). The results obtained for this round of sampling were as follows:

LOCATION___________________ Airborne Concentration (s/mm ; North entrance of school - East side 16.67_____________________ North entrance of School - West side 16.67 ND = not detected

The laboratory chain of custody sheet(s) are attached.

Please contact Robert Adams if there are any questions.
