Mr. Bernard P. Orlan March 1,2002 Air Sampling for Metals Page 2 P.S. 234 /-Manhattan') ATC Project No. 15-19125-0279

Results

Chromium (Cr) was the only metal detected in all four samples and in the blank. Aluminum (Al) was detected in one sample and and iron (Fe) was detected in two samples. Blank-correcting the Cr levels substantially reduces the airborne concentrations

The results are shown in the following table:

METALS IN AIR CONCENTRATIONS FEBRUARY 19, 2002

Main Lobby / Ml 0.477 0.019 *BDL 2.10 1“ floor Hallway / M2 0.599 0.142 BDL BDL West Playground/ M3 0.533 0.076 2.70 3.05

Roof/M4 0.477 0.019 BDL BDL Field Blank/M5 ug/sample _________ BDL BDL * Below Detection Limit

All of the blank-corrected Cr concentrations are below the EPA screening level of 0.6 ug/m\ The EPA has no screening levels or guidelines for Al or Fe in ambient air.

ATC appreciates the opportunity to provide this indoor air quality service to the BOE. Please call me at (212) 353-8280 extension 212 if you have any questions.
