Re: Limited settled dust bulk sampling for fiberglass at P.S. 234M
Dear Mr. Orlan;
At your request, ATC Associates, Inc. representative Mr. Yiannis Efstathiou visited P.S. 234M located at 292 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007 on February 7*’, 2002. The purpose of the site visit was to perform a limited settled dust bulk sampling to be analyzed for fiberglass fiber content only in classroom #211 after a custodial cleanup was performed.
This bulk sampling was a follow up testing in response to the February 5*'' bulk sampling where one sample collected from classroom #211 was found to contain more than 1% fiberglass fibers. Bulk sampling was performed after a custodial clean up of classroom #211 was completed.
A total of three (3) settled dust bulk samples were collected from classroom 3211 and were analyzed utilizing Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM).
Analytical results indicated that none of the three (3) collected settled dust bulk samples contain fiberglass fibers.
The settled dust bulk sampling performed was limited to testing for fiberglass in classroom #211 after a custodial clean up was completed in response to the recommendations of the February 5* bulk sampling findings.
