Re: Limited settled dust bulk sampling for fiberglass at P.S. 89M
Dear Mr. Orlan:
At your request, ATC Associates, Inc. representative Mr. Yiannis Efstathiou visited P.S. 89M located at 201 Warren Street, New York, NY 10282 on February 15, 2002. The purpose of the site visit was to perform a limited settled dust bulk sampling to be analyzed for fiberglass fiber content only on the 2“*’ floor hallway (south end) after a custodial cleanup was performed.
This bulk sampling was a follow up testing in response to the February 14"’ bulk sampling where one sample collected fi-om the South end of the 2"" floor hallway was found to contain 4% fiberglass fibers. Bulk sampling was performed after a custodial clean up of the 2"" floor hallway was completed.
A total of three (3) settled dust bulk samples were collected from the 2"“' floor hallway and were analyzed utilizing Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM).
Analytical results indicated that none of the three (3) collected settled dust bulk samples contain fiberglass fibers.
The settled dust bulk sampling performed was limited to testing for fiberglass on the 2"" floor hallway after a custodial clean up was completed in response to the recommendations of the February 15th bulk sampling findings.
