Mr. Bernard P. Orlan July 3, 2002 Air Sampling for Metals Page 2 P. S. 150 (Manhattan) ATCProiectNoM5-1912S02^

RESULTS

On all sampling days. Chromium (Cr) was detected in all three samples and the blanks. Blank-correcting the Cr concentrations in the samples lowers them to below or just above the limits of detection. No other metals were detected.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has set a screening level for hexavalent chromium (the more toxic form) in air of 0.6 ug/m\ this assumes a continuous exposure for one year. The samples here were analyzed for total chromium (trivalent and hexavalent). In all the sampling days, the chromium concentrations, after blank-correction, were below the EPA screening level.

ATC appreciates the opportunity to provide this indoor air quality service to the BOE. Please call (212) 353-8280 extension 212 if you have any questions.

Sincerely, ATC Associates, Inc.
