METHODOLOGY

i Sample Extraction

15 Each sample was spiked with ’^Cij-labeled PCDD/PCDF internal standards (Table 1) and extracted with toluene in a Soxhlet extractor. The extract was quantitatively transferred to a Kuderna-Danish concentrator, concentrated, and solvent exchanged to hexane. The hexane extract was then spiked with 2,3,7,8-TCDD-®’Cl4 enrichment efficiency standard (Table 1) and processed through 3 the analyte enrichment procedures described below.
