Dear Mr. Orlan:
At your request, ATC Associates, Inc. representative Mr. Yiannis Efstathiou (NYC-DEP asbestos investigator #82244 & NYS-DOL asbestos inspector certificate #AH 96-10905) visited P.S. 89M located at 201 Warren Street, New York, NY 10282 on December 11“’, 2001. The purpose of the site visit was to perform settled dust bulk sampling to be analyzed for asbestos content from unitvent filters and from the floor area behind the unitvents in locations indicated to ATC by Mr. Alex Lempert director of NYC-SCA Industrial & Environmental Hygiene Division.
A total of six (6) settled dust bulk samples were collected from locations indicated to ATC by a. NYC-SCA representative on site. All collected settled dust bulk samples were analyzed utilizing Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM).
The purposed of the dust bulk sampling is to determine if settled dust on the unitvent filters and on the floor area behind the urivents contains asbestos.
Analytical results indicated that two (2) collected settled dust bulk samples contain traces of asbestos fibers. All other four (4) collected settled dust bulk samples were found to contain .no asbestos fibers.
The proAdded settled dust bulk sample laboratory results are representative of the materials collected during ATC’s site visit only. Tlrese laboratory results should not be used to represent “similai-” materials collected during other time periods.
