Wa are in receipt of your fax of 7/14/98 with the attached letter from The City of New York dated July 8,1998.
In reviewing the City’s letter, we do not agree with the cost increase of $117,6fJ4.00 they are allowing for the upgrading of the hurricane wall. We believe It should be $162,888.00 as per the following breakdown from our letter dated 6/23/98;
Item No. 5 Change wall framing, etc., add... $167,252.00 Add bulletproofing 188,934.00 Deduct for manual dampers <45.205.00> Total $310,981.00
Originai Hurricane Wali $473,869.00 Changes as per 6/23/98 ^310,9.81 .Q0> Total $162,888.00
Therefore, the work is increased by $162,888.00.
We are proceeding with the “Hurricane Wall’ as described on Swanke Hayden Connell’s fax message of 6/27/98. As you know, our letter of 6/11 /98 detailing costs for this work was a budget estimate, not final trade values.
