The following specs are for the LAN backbone runs between the LAN head end room and the remote LAN room. There will be two backbones, one running in the north cable tray and one in the south tray. Fiber: There will be six strands of data grade fiber in each backbone run, installed by Ambassador. Termination in both rooms will be in a "punchdown" with connectors for ’’ST' terminated fiber patch cords. In the LAN head room, the punchdown will be located on the west ’^11 in the area with the UTP cable punchdowns. In the remote LAN room, the punchdown is to be located in a cabinet to supplied by OEM (already on order). This cabinet is one of foe six in that room. UTP: The DoITT is to install a twenty-four pair UTP cable in each backbone run. Termination in both rooms will be in foe same type of "punchdown" as all other UTP runs. In foe LAN head room, the punchdown will be located on foe west wall area with the other UTF’ data cable punchdowns. In the remote LAN room, the punchdown is to be located in the same cabinet as foe fiber backbone.
