Re: Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management
7 World Trade Center
7* & 23"* Floors
New York, New York
Project #96-1346
Dear Ms. Gilberti:
We are in receipt of the proposal for structural engineering services submitted by The
Cantor Seinuk Group P.C., dated December 17, 1997, regarding the captioned project.
We hereby approve The Cantor Seinuk Group as the selected sub-consultant for Swanke
Hayden Connell Architects to perform all the necessary structural engineering services associated
with the mechanical spaces at the 7* floor, the emergency fuel oil tank at the Ground Floor,
miscellaneous slab penetrations, reinforcement of the 23"* Floor structure if required, and the
Radio Room at Roof Level. Bidding and construction documents shall be prepared, as well as
construction administration.
The City’s opinion in reference to the Landlord’s proposed allocation of the fuel oil tank
on the ground floor is that it is a very costly solution. The City feels strongly that it should be
allowed to use the building emergency fuel oil, and pay for its consumption. In that case, the
City will be entitled to a credit on the engineering fees for the portion of the work.
