Architectural, engineering, and interior design and construction administration for this
1,066,000 SF headquarters which houses eating areas, offices, executive suites, business and
legal libraries, board rooms, lounges, and conference rooms. Beneath the building is a con
course level housing several service functions and a four-story parking garage
accommodating 800 cars. The Joint Computer Center servicing the needs of the Fund is also
located in the concourse. The 265,000 SF Phase II addition was completed in 1983. Complete
fire alarm system renovation curently underway (800 zones). TKLP is now completing mas
ter site and space planning for a proposed 100,000 SF computer facility and the Phase III
addition of 450,000 SF which completes the full block complex. Orient^ around a second
atrium, the member nation offices are supported by dining and meeting facilities. Extensive
landscaping and an enlarged visitor's center provide amenities to the Washington public as
well as the Fund's Associates.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Belvoir, VA
This secure administrative facility for the Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM)
headquarters consists of 230,000 SF designed for extensive use of computers. Raised floors
throughout the facility provide convenient access and great flexibility for electrical/elec
tronic/communications distribution systems. The 40,000 SF computer center and other critical
operations areas are supported by a UPS system and emergency power generation. The
design incorporates extensive measures to guard against physical and electronic intrusion,
including fencing, road bends, vehicle barriers, TEMPEST shielding, white sound barriers,
and interior door access control.
