Battery Park City Commercial Center Bldg. "B" WTC River Water Intake System Relocations shall be installed that only one end is free to move with respect to the conduit. 5. The setting of flexible fittings installed in asbestos cement conduit runs shall be as directed by the Port Authority Engineer. 6. Changes of direction in asbestos cement conduits shall be made by the use of wide bends, sweeps and offsets and not by the use of elbows. 7. Asbestos cement conduits which terminate in the concrete walls of manholes, handholes or other- concrete structures shall be provided with manu­ factured end bells or with end bells formed in the concrete by means of properly shaped wooden plugs. 8. Asbestos cement conduit duct bank arrangements shall be in accordance with Port Authority Stan­ dard Drawing 405.012 and as shown on Drawings. B. Cleaning and Testing Conduit 1. After conduits and accessories have bee’i instal­ led and all concreting operations completed. all conduit runs shall be satisfactorily cleared of all obstructions and foreign matter. Any defects which might damage cable upon installation shall be corrected. 2. Empty conduits installed under this contract shall be tested in the presence of the Port Authority Engineer by pulling through each con- duit a flexible cylindrical mandrel, having an outside diameter one-quarter inch less than the inside diameter of the conduit. 3. The use of rope to pull a brush or a mandrel will not Ibe permitted. Only steel cable shall be used. Any defects or stoppages occurring in por~ • tions of the conduit runs installed by the Sub­ contractor shall be corrected at the Subcontrac­ tor’s own expense.
