3. Vendors from our list of contractors where called. The company that could do the requested work, and gave the
lowest price was chosen.
4. The vendor will collect and analyze by Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) a total of twenty (20) air samples from
various locations in the vicinity of the World Trade Center on a daily basis. All locations will be designated by DEP
DERTA, and may be periodically changed. All equipment needed for the air sampling including electric generators, air
sampling pumps, etc., will be supplied by the vendor. Sufficient personnel shall be assigned so that each sampling point is
manned and supervised at all times while sampling is in progress.
Air samples will be collected after 0800 hours each day. PCM results of each days' air monitoring will be provided
to DEP no later than 2100 hours each evening. The results will be faxed to a designated number and will be e-mailed to
selected individuals within DEP. At DEP's discretion, certain samples may be required to be analyzed using Transmission
Electron Microscopy (TEM). The TEM results will be provided no later than 1200 hours on the following day. TEM results
will also be faxed and e-mailed to the designated individuals.
5. Estimated time: 6 months

7. DEP is responsible for monitiring various environmental conditions.
