The appliances are listed in the scope of work and contract from the Department. The copy
of the scope of work and access agreement identifies the Department's recommendations and
requirements. You should have copies of both. If you don't, the board should, or let me
know and I will forward the documents to you.
My office title is New York City Department of Environmental Protection Asbestos Control
Program Deputy Director. Michael Gilsenan is the Bureau of Environmental Compliance
Assistant Commissioner.

Dear Mike and Penny:
I am the third floor residential owner at 114 Liberty St. Upon your recommendations, you
removed all appliances from the home due to World Trade Center contamination, with the
exception of the stove. Thus, the refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and microwave
were discarded. My insurance will cover replacement purchases of these items under my
personal property claim, but the company asked for written confirmation of the DEP
recommendation for discarding the appliances.
Could either of you provide that to me? An e-mail to me stating this along with your
titles are all that is necessary.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
