I wa -d to give you both a heads up that next thursday or friday the 26 or 2 EPA's ORD will release two reports: a dr human health evaluation for the World Trade Center and a final rode; study that looks at the toxicity of the WTC dust. I believe that pres.. ■.alls will be handled by ORD out of Washington. I will be away, but ave asked Bonnie Bellow (212-637-3660) to call you or have some: call when we know for certain it's a go. Here's a few quick bull on the studies, just to give you an idea of what they say:

ne human health evaluation concludes that, with the exception of thos ixposed immediately following the collapse and perhaps during the next :W days, people in the surrounding community are not likely to suf f, from serious long or short term health effects.

he rodent study found that a high dose of WTC fine PM could cause mile ng inflammation and air flow obstruction in mice and a similarly high ,se in people could cause short-term respiratory effects such as infl-- .ation and cough.

' oth studies support statements that have been made by other rese., . .iners and by EPA. Workers and those exposed in the collapses are the :....t likely to have health problems, residents and workers in the nieg..'. . rhood that were not exposed to the initial collapse are not like to
