1. IRB Review A

The Background Study consent agreements and access forms will be presented to the IRB later today by Jim Miller. \ 1 X it I. 2. Background Study Update • The contract was awarded on June 10''\ V * t t- t , Ik ,J , ; .7

• No residential lofts have been found to be included in the study. NYCDOH will assist EPA with getting more residential spaces to be included in the study. ' EPA is currently working on getting access to the buildings. f The criteria needs to be set so that the data collected can be used by other studies. However, due to small sample size, too many pararneters may not result in useful information. The Background Study will not be analyzing samples for total metals. - Total metals samples will be collected downtown only and it will be explained that it is for informational purposes only.

3. Pilot Cleaning • Anticipate completion by the first week in August. • Air monitoring clearance after cleaning failed the AHERA (small fibers) clearance. criteria but passed the risk-based (large fibers) clearance criteria. — Workgroup will discuss offline how this issue should be addressed and report
