Terry Smith/DC/USEPA/US@EPA, Marcus Kantz/R2/USEPA/US@EPA Subject: WTC Indoor Air Sampling and Analytical Procedures for the workgroup meeting on 5/2
Attached is an excel table summarizing the sampling and analysis that we feel can be conducted for both the pilot and background studies. We're making progress.
This table may go through some slight modifications since there is still some information I am waiting for from RTP on lead sampling. Apparently lead dust sampling can be more difficult.
Please pay attention to the Sampling Vulnerability/Practicality column. This is most important for those porous/soft surfaces and the collection of silica for the porous and non-porous surfaces. These items will be what the workgroup or management will need to decide. Once we have the answers we can go forward with the SOW since it will affect the number of samples being collected.
Since the exclusion of Dioxins and PAHs in air sampling, we now believe that the remaining parameters can be sampled within an 8 hour period. (Much more practical for the background study)
I am also working on some text I hope to finish today. The text portion may be more appropriate to bring to the attention of the PICs workgroup. I will leave that up to you decide. Hopefully I can have something for you today.
I plan on bringing copies of this table to the meeting to handout and discuss unless you object. Based on the out come of the meeting and the decisions made, the SOW for the background study will be revised accordingly.
