the tremendous cleanup job recently completed by DEP. I have sent several potential quotes to Charlie for your review as the story evolves. As previously communicated, i am doing everything humanly possible to literally put the words in EPA's mouth to defend themselves against the inaccuracies being levied by Congressman Nadler. Along those lines, a meeting is scheduled with D/M Doctoroffs office (Laurel Blatchford) for 10 AM Tuesday with our PR firm, Edelman. This has been an extremely difficult but yet successful effort in terms of balancing a frustrating cordial relationship with EPA so I might not jeopardize the FAD you will announce the same day I am meeting with Edelman and EPA staff. I am working very hard to sensitively strip EPA of much of its authority while leaving them with complete responsibility for the indoor clean and test program. It is disappointing to me to hear someone articulate that they "thought we were in control of the situation". I guess whoever makes such suggestions are not acutely aware of the financial and operational pitfalls we have avoided. Bob
