Subject: EPA - MTA/Verizon
Chris,
1 have spoken to Kathy Callahan and made it abundantly clear that the MTA postings are a NO GO. She indicated that a
posting initiative commenced yesterday through Verizon that had been cleared by Charlie Sturcken. I challenged her and
reaffirmed the position we had taken as late as last week and told her to have the posting initiative stopped immediately.
In a further conversation with Kathy she indicated that perhaps the posting initiative had not started but they had made
commitments to Gerson and CB#1 to put forth this initiative. I once again stated our position and told her it is now time to
right the ship and bring this cleanup effort to conclusion through the positive data we have accumulated most recently. As
you can see in Sharon's e-mail to me, she asked if you could call Jane today. Jane is travelling however Kathy has been
in discussion with her on the subject. I have had conversations with FEMA who refuse to fund this initiative and are willing
to provide full support to our position. Quite frankly, we should devise a strategy that takes our message to Whitman direct
through FEMA's director and the Mayor or Deputy Mayor. Please call me in the office.
Thanks,
Bob

Sharon and Bob,
I think that we need Dan D. and Chris W. to weigh in on this immediately
with Jane Kenney to make the NYC position clear.
Please advise.
