As previously discussed I, along with EPA and DOH, will be meeting with members of the LMDC
tomorrow evening at City Hall. I will be doing a power point presentation on the Exterior Clean
Up Program (see attached agenda - crafted by Laurel as per our meeting yesterday).
I anticipate being in a relatively controlled hot seat and will clearly describe the work we have
done to date and, just as important, emphasize the EPA responsibility with respect to the Interior
Clean Up Program.
Additionally, Kathy asked for my assistance with respect to moving funds with FEMA to take on
the testing initiative we spoke about on Friday. I had a conversation with Brad Gair and told him
to only agree if EPA agrees to terminate the existing HOTLINE on 9/3. They should be allowed to
go with a press release, or any appropriate notification, immediately suggesting that people have
until 9/3 to take advantage of the offer. Please express this position to Deputy Mayor Doctoroff
so everyone is on the same page to bring closure to this phase that drives time, cost and
confusion.
