Dear Friends, We are pleased to announce a new addition to www.LowerManhattan.info that will make information about Lower Manhattan more accessible to all New Yorkers. In an effort to better serve the downtown community, www.LowerManhattan.info has been translated into Cantonese and Spanish, allowing more people to access important information regarding the revitalization of Lower Manhattan. Included are translations of the Rebuilding; Get There and Get Around, Health, Safety and Security; Assistance and Incentives; and Things To Do sections of LowerManhattan.info. LowerManhattan.info is a website which the City of New York launched last September to provide residents, workers, businesses and visitors with essential information on Lower Manhattan and its recovery. The campaign centralizes news from city, state, and federal agencies, along with organizational partners, to provide a single, trusted source of information that empowers and inspires individuals to build their futures in Lower Manhattan. In the coming weeks, we will unveil a series of unique website enhancements in an effort to make information about Lower Manhattan even more accessible. These new features include an interactive transportation map which will provide daily updates on street closures, construction and traffic as well as subscription services which will allow users to personalize the information they receive. LowerManhattan.info has already become a well-traveled source of information - with thousands of daily visitors. We hope increasing the functionality of the website through language translations will attract more people to the site and ensure that those who need assistance and information receive it.
