1. The DEP will treat 125 Cedar St. as an asbestos containing building and the cleanup will proceed like a full asbestos abatement with licenced contractors.

2. Why did the DEP take over? a. FEMA funding stipulates the DEP is to clean exteriors of buildings and unoccupied buildings. b. EP A has funding to clean interiors of occupied buildings.

3. DEP will write the scope of work with an EPA review. a. A consultant will write the SOW. b. DEP will identify the consultant within a week of this meeting.

4. Bidding process: a. Takes 1-1 56 weeks. b. Contractor to write the SOW will be on-board by the week of July 1“. c. The SOW should be ready by the end of the week of July 8”’. d. The SOW will include all work that will be done at 125 Cedar.

5. Residents would like the DEP and EPA to inform them if there are items that are a potential contamination risk.

6. Can residents be present during the cleanup? a. A consultant can be present as long as they are licenced and certified in asbestos abatement. b. Residents can schedule times to come in, but must use PPE and follow safety regulations. c. All residents would want to come back at some point during the cleaning process.

7. DEP can maybe set up a decontamination area near the site to clean personal items that were removed from apartments before the abatement process began.

8. If the building is tested at 6 months and it is still hot for contaminants, what will the EPA do? a. Unknown at this point. b. Depends on the events that occur after cleaning.
